Dalia Salah Burgess

Social Work Student, Arizona State University

Dalia Salah Burgess is a seasoned animal welfare professional turned social work student with a passion for connection. Through the development of multidimensional programs, cultivation of organizational culture, and inclusive leadership, Dalia has helped transform two animal shelters into thriving community support centers. After spending more than a decade working in multifaceted roles for nonprofit, municipal, and hybrid animal welfare organizations, Dalia knows what truly drives meaningful change. Dalia continues to approach the betterment of this field with mindful, transparent strategy, and by making sure there is a seat at the table for everyone.

Dalia is currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Community Advocacy and Social Policy. In addition to being a full-time student, Dalia is a volunteer with the Virginia Animal Fighting Task Force and works with children through an Equine Ministry that provides animal-assisted therapy.
