We are still compiling responses to our survey that was sent out to Tier 1 Shelters to learn about their current Playgroup and other enrichment programs. While this occurs, our group is currently working in two subgroups: Subgroup 1 is focusing on the development of software “best practices” for shelters to reference in order to assist the daily inner-workings of Playgroup operations, in addition to other organizational resources to aid playgroup efforts. Subgroup 2 is currently focused on researching current models for including out-of-shelter dogs into playgroup programs, such as Foster dogs, previously adopted dogs, and privately owned dogs in the community in order to expand the benefits of playgroup.

No updates available.

The Playgroup Working Group has brainstormed and gathered some best practices for how playgroups can play an instrumental role in key shelter operations such as accurate and efficient evaluations and urgent placement. The group has also worked on a list of key performance indicators and operational metrics to utilize in assessing Tier 1 Shelters and their individual needs for an enhanced playgroup program. Lastly, the group has formalized and reached consensus on our group’s mission statement, problem statement, and guiding principles, all in an effort to ensure cohesive efforts and support for HASS Tier 1 Shelters.

No updates yet, check back soon.
