Rochester Animal Services supported over 50 community members’ animals, some for things as simple ear infections and wellness visits, and some for serious health issues such as hit-by-cars, pyometras, or dystocias. With the help of new partners in the last two months, they delivered 427 units of food and supplies to 264 pets in over 100 households. Additionally, they ran a drive-through vaccination/identification clinic, providing rabies/DAPP vaccinations, microchips, ID tags, and licenses to 28 dogs. In 2021 foster numbers have increased significantly, live release rate increased by 7% and intake has been cut as they encourage the HASS model and provide various information and resources to finders and people who (initially!) wanted to surrender their pets.
