(Austin, TX) — July 11, 2022 – pets.findhelp.com, created by Human Animal Support Services, is the first platform of its kind to make accessing pet support easy. Your community’s free and low-cost pet services are just a click away.
When families struggle, pets are affected, too. This leads to loved pets being given up to animal shelters, by heartbroken owners who think this is their only option.
Pet food banks, low cost veterinary care, behavioral training, and other support for pets exist—more and more every day, as the Human Animal Support Services community-focused model of animal services spreads to new communities.
But people haven’t always known how to find, or access, these resources. That’s where pets.findhelp.com comes in to fill this urgent need.
Simply enter your zip code, then search pets.findhelp.com for whatever pet services you’re interested in, from pet food pantries and training, to veterinary care and more. You can also browse the free and low-cost pet support services in your area.
The platform is launching nationally first launching in Human Animal Support Services partner cities like Atlanta, GA, San Diego, CA, Fresno, CA, Rochester, NY, Dallas, TX and many more, with plans to expand across the country throughout 2022.
“Pets and people belong together,” says American Pets Alive! director Kristen Hassen, who leads the Human Animal Support Services project. “With pets.findhelp.com, we honor and preserve the human-animal bond by making sure that families can find and access the support they need, and pets are not unnecessarily given up to shelters. This customized website preserves families and keeps pets in their homes with the people who love them.”
“At findhelp, we understand the value that pets bring to people’s lives,” says Erine Gray, Founder & CEO of findhelp. “As a dog-friendly office, we’re proud to support the whole family, both people in need and their pet companions. Our platform makes it easy for anyone in need to find and connect to local pet support and other resources in their communities.”
American Pets Alive!’s Human Animal Support Services project is an international, collaborative effort of more than 2,100 animal shelters and 10,000 animal welfare professionals who are working together to keep pets with their families and reimagine animal services to better support their communities.
